The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a short story written by Mr. Washington Irving, an American author. This story was written abroad in Birmingham, England. In the book of The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, he wrote 34 essays and short stories. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was first published in 1820. The genre was fiction. Earlier, this was read and loved by everyone as it was published through media at that time – Hardback and Paperback. Later, it was brought to light by few actors and actress who played it on stage. After the modernization of the world, it was brought on screen both in animations and through the action of celebrities.

Washington Irving was an American author born on April 3, 1783, in New York city, New York and breathed his last on November 28, 1850, in Tarrytown, New York. He was treated like “The man of aptitude” in 19th century. He was a story writer, essayist, biographer etc. by profession. He was multi-talented. He was an active participant in the literary movement “Romanticism” which was a movement which sprung up in Europe which consisted of the artistic and intellectuals involved in it. In the memorial of Washington Irving after his death, there was a stamp announced publicly. Also, there were many works done by Washington when he was with life in his nostrils.
