Grimms’ Fairy Tales by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm

Grimms’ Fairy Tales is a famous book of the collection of fairy tales written by Grimm and his brethren. This is world’s favorite tale. Its author was Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm. Jacob and Wilhelm were born in Germany and their mother-tongue was German.  They primarily write stories of folklore type and fairy tales. This book was published in the year 1812. Its source was from a collection of books called Anglo sphere. Anglo sphere is a group of English-speaking countries who share British heritage and culture. The famous volume “The Children and Home Fairy Tales” was a part of this famous manuscript.

Wilhelm Grimm was born on 24th February 1786 in Hanau-Kassel and breathed his last breath on 16th December, 1859 being well-stricken in age, in Berlin, Prussia. Jacob was born in year 1785 and died in 1863 in very old age. Like in the history of every great personality, these brothers faced problems too! The death of their father in 1796 put them in debts and utmost and paramount poverty. By the time, they were just adolescents. However, they survived all their unevenness and mediocrity and got educated, mostly, by Folktales and fairy tales. Hus first book was Kinder-und Hausmarchen in German. The books written by them were interpreted by others after their last breathe. Their work together gained success in many novels as well. Some of them were: Cinderella, Repaunzel, the Frog Princess et cetra. Some of their novels were taken as a source for many animated films.

There are two main volumes in the book. The first volume consists of 86 books and the second one has 116 books. There are more than 10 books which concern to children and tales according to their happiness.  They are as follows:

  • The Twelve Apostles.
  • The Rose.
  • Poverty and Humility lead to Heaven.
  • God’s Food.
  • The Three Green Twigs.
  • The Blessed Virgin’s Little Glass.
  • The Little Old Lady.
  • The Heavenly Marriage.
  • The Hazel Branch.
  • In a Glass Grimmly.

All the manuscripts and fairy tales were written in German. However they were translated after their demise.  The world could not recognize them till their termination. To have a logical thinking and very great imaginations, people have to examine Grimms’ Fairy Tales.
